Dan Doctoroff is Chairman and CEO of Sidewalk Labs, an Alphabet company. Sidewalk was formed to accelerate the integration of digital technology into urban environments. Its team combines technologists and urbanists who build products and services with the aspiration of developing a new district that can serve as a model for 21st-century urban life.

Before Sidewalk, Dan was President and CEO of Bloomberg L.P., the leading provider of news and information to the financial community. During Dan’s tenure, Bloomberg expanded its news operations and expanded into government, law and energy. Despite the Recession, Bloomberg’s organic revenues nearly doubled while Dan was CEO.

Prior Bloomberg, Dan served as Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding for the City of New York. With Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Dan spearheaded an economic strategy to reverse the city’s post-9/11 fiscal crisis and launched the most ambitious development plan in the city’s modern history. Dan’s plan rebuilt the World Trade Center site, inaugurated the largest affordable housing program in an American city, and oversaw projects like the High Line and Hudson Yards.

Before the Bloomberg Administration, Dan was Managing Partner of Oak Hill Capital Partners. While at Oak Hill, Dan founded NYC2012, which spearheaded efforts to bring the Olympic Games to New York City.

A graduate of Harvard College and The Law School at the University of Chicago, Dan lives in New York City with his wife, Alisa. The Doctoroffs have three grown children.
